At our June 4, 2026 Founders Day Gala Dinner & Awards Program, BuildIT recognized an extraordinary member of our LGBTQ community, Greg Sarris, who is not only an educator, philanthropist and grass-roots community advocate – but he is also the Chairman of the Federated Indians of the Graton Rancheria. We also acknowledged and celebrated the Graton Rancheria community which is a federation of Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo groups recognized as a tribe by the US Congress.
As Chairman, Greg leads over 3,500 employees associated with the Graton Resort and Casino located in Rohnert Park/Sonoma County in California. He is also an owner who has overseen the $1 Billion+ resort development project which put hundreds of construction workers (including those from the LGBTQ community) to work for the last two years.
Founders and Associates of BuildIT have worked alongside Greg, and the Federated Indians of the Graton Rancheria, for over a decade where we have seen them build iconic buildings and critical infrastructure in Northern California. Greg is also a recognized national leader when it comes to championing cultural significance, education and environmental issues. He has never shied away from rolling up his sleeves to get the hard work done when it comes to community organization, construction and job creation.
Thank you, Greg, and the Federated Indians of the Graton Rancheria! Your remarks at the Gala Dinner & Awards Program were the highlight for many!
