BuildIT + Denver International Airport

Things are really ‘taking off’ at Denver International Airport with BuildIT!

BuildIT was honored to meet with Denver International Airport’s (DEN) CEO, Phil Washington, and Andrea Albo, Deputy Chief of Staff, to discuss key issues such as industry support for project funding, workforce development and the updates to BuildIT’s 20 Year Business Plan.

BuildIT was joined by our industry partners David Sperling and Crystal Garcia from C & S Companies at this forward-thinking, dynamic, and collaborative  meeting.

In 2024 DEN served 82,358,744 passengers which was a 5.8% increase over the 77,837,917 passengers served in 2023, the previous record. 2024 is the first year in history DEN served more than 80 million annual passengers. DEN also has a $12B Capital Improvement Program of which several of BuildIT’s collaborative partners are engaged including Hensel Phelps, Kiewit and Flatiron/Dragados. We look forward to working with the DEN design/construction teams to build on their efforts to utilize Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs).

BuildIT, and its networks, have had relationships with Mr. Washington dating back to 2015 when he was the CEO of LA Metro.  More recently, BuildIT has been working with Mr. Washington, John Pocari, and Rick Jacobs under the umbrella of Equity in Infrastructure where we are one of ninety-one “pledge signers” to the EIP Pledge to build economic vitality, nationwide, for all small businesses and HUBs.
