BuildOUT California is pleased to present our 2021 California Public Utilities LGBT Utilization and Spend Analysis Report. This annual report synthesizes the spend (or utilization) information submitted by the 27 utilities who fall under the California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUCs) General Order (GO) 156 Program. The data referenced in the report uses public-facing information submitted by the utilities to the CPUC on/before March 1, 2022, for the calendar year 2021.
Highlights from the 2021 report include:
The overall ‘spend’ with LGBT businesses in 2021 increased by $14 Million over 2020
11 out of the 27 reporting utilities (or 40.74%) grew their spend with LGBT businesses over 2020
8 out of the 27 reporting utilities (or 29.63%) saw a decline in their spend with LGBT businesses from 2020
The combined ‘spend’ in 2021 by T-Mobile, Southern California Edison, and Pacific Gas and Electric accounts for 58% (approximately $33M) of the total dollars spent with certified LGBT businesses in 2021
10 out of the 27 reporting utilities (or 37.04%) spent $0 with certified LGBT businesses in 2021.
