One of the most frequently asked questions we received leading up to our landmark event to update our 20-year Business & Engagement Plan was “Why Wyoming as a location for an LGBTQ/Allied-focused construction industry organization?” As we shared during the opening minutes of our multi-day event, throughout our lives as LGBTQ individuals we have been told ‘you don’t belong here’ or simply ‘you’re not welcome here.’ Well, BuildIT doesn’t prescribe to those ways of thinking. We are unapologetic, we are bold and at times kind of brash. We open doors around the globe, build bridges and welcome economic prosperity for all.

As we have found throughout the construction industry, Wyoming welcomed us with open arms. We were awestruck by the beauty of the Grand Teton Range as we landed and we were uplifted by the participation of such global industry leaders like Phil Washington, CEO of Denver International Airport and Founder of Equity in Infrastructure, Andrea Rutledge, President and CEO of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), and Ann Gray, Immediate Past President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), with its over 134,000 members worldwide.
