Kat Janowicz is ‘Jackson Hole Bound’ with BuildIT!

We are beyond thrilled to announce that Kat Janowicz is attending our National Strategic Planning Session, bringing her decades of experience in the AEC industry, especially with Ports, to our ‘Big Round Table’ of discussion. 

Kat Janowicz is a leader, strategist and researcher, working at the nexus of transportation, energy, technology, and global trade. With nearly three decades of experience, she has built strategic partnerships and engaged stakeholders across complex projects and initiatives in Southern California and abroad.

Kat is also the Chair of FuturePorts - a Southern California-based organization that advocates for policies supporting the competitiveness of the region's ports while addressing environmental concerns. It brings together business leaders from the goods movement industry to work on issues like environmental impact, air quality, and regulatory actions through advocacy, education, and events.  The organization works through coalition-building, meetings with regulators and legislators, speaking at hearings, submitting comments, and representing members on relevant committees.

With an MS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA, she brings both technical depth and strategic perspective. The author of Chasing Zero, she tells how the LA–Long Beach ports became the world’s cleanest and reshaped supply chains. She also serves on several boards and speaks on sustainability, education, and economic development.
