Construction Workforce Conference - Sept 3 in Oakland

BuildIT’s LGBT Workforce Development Team would like to showcase the work of several of our key partners in the following event:

Join us for the 2026 Bay Area Construction Workforce Conference as industry leaders, public agencies, contractors, labor, educators, workforce partners, and community organizations come together to explore how we prepare for the opportunities ahead.

Building A Stronger Bay Area & Beyond: Partnerships, Pathways, & Policies

This conference is centered on strengthening the pre-apprenticeship → apprenticeship → retention pipeline in the building trades. Together, we'll explore how stronger partnerships, innovative workforce pathways, and forward-thinking policies can create sustainable careers, meet the growing demand for skilled workers, and ensure individuals not only enter the trades?but thrive and build lasting careers.

This conference is made possible through an incredible collaboration among the Alameda County Building & Construction Trades Council, Associated General Contractors of California, Construction Resource Center (CRC), Construction Trades Workforce Initiative (CTWI), Cypress Mandela Training Center, Oakland Unified School District, PG&E, Port of Oakland, Swinerton, and Webcor.

Whether you're shaping workforce strategy, developing talent, building projects, leading an apprenticeship program, or investing in our communities, this conference is your opportunity to connect with leaders committed to building a stronger, more inclusive construction industry.
