Kabri Lehrman-Schmid elevated to General Superintendent at Hensel Phelps

BuildIT congratulates Kabri Lehrman-Schmid (she/her) on her promotion to General Superintendent with Hensel Phelps.

A longtime supporter of BuildIT's mission and advocate for opportunity-building initiatives across the construction industry, Kabri has dedicated much of her career to helping people find pathways to growth, leadership, and belonging. Her promotion reflects years of field leadership, operational excellence, and service to the profession, and BuildIT is proud to see Hensel Phelps continue investing in leaders who elevate project performance while creating opportunities for others to succeed.

In her new role as General Superintendent, Kabri will lead and support the field organization on the multi-billion-dollar S Concourse Evolution program at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). Her focus will include developing field leaders, strengthening team performance, promoting operational consistency, and helping project teams safely deliver work to Hensel Phelps' standards of quality and execution.

Beyond her project responsibilities, Kabri is an active industry advocate focused on workforce sustainability, mental health, and inclusive field leadership. Through industry partnerships, speaking engagements, publications, training initiatives, and volunteer service, she contributes practical ideas and resources that help strengthen leadership, jobsite culture, and workforce development across the construction industry.

Kabri is a co-founder of Build with Pride Seattle, serves on the board of the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention, holds a civil engineering degree from Columbia University, and received BuildIT's Community Impact Award in 2022.
